Abstract
This paper objective to understand the stages of the organizational life cycle-CVO Dudalina firm, identifying the elements that contributed to the decline, as well as strategies that contribute to the turnaround of this firm. The choice of this firm is justified in that it has elements that characterize it as a family business and a history reflecting rise, decline and turnaround during its existence. The CVO was analyzed from the Three Circles Model of Family Business proposed by Production units, interviews with partners/shareholders were visited, as well as analysis of documents provided by firm. The family business systems are complex because they handle elements that are interrelated in various stages of development of the firm, so understand the logic of decline and turnaround in this type of firm is necessary. Apart from the studies are incipient decline and neglected in the literature. This study allowed us to understand that the economic crisis exposed the weaknesses of the organizations, however, the decline is a phenomenon which is revealed prior to the crisis, therefore, capable of identifying and controlling.
