Abstract
Ostensibly, role models are chosen because they embody important and uncommon characteristics that may affect the way we view our lives—and the way we live them. When emulated, they can serve as mentors who provide guidance and influence our career choices. When I reflect on my own career, it is enlightening to realize how many plastic surgeons have been role models who not only directly or indirectly influenced me but also had an impact on current American aesthetic surgery practice as a whole.
