Abstract
Price of fuel oil and natural gas for household needs increasingly disturbing people, particularly people who are left behind in rural areas, due to the supply of fuel for rural areas is very difficult and rare. To overcome such things need to look for an alternative. Renewable energy is an energy source that has high potential as a substitute for petroleum energy, the use of waste or agricultural waste and livestock. Indonesia has a very fertile area for cultivation and livestock farming which can be used as raw material for making biocharcoal The method used is the experimental method, namely by direct testing of the specimen which is the object of research. Making gluten dough using flour and enough water that has been heated by the variation of the ratio of adhesive 7.7% chicken manure and rice husk. Then mix the rice husk and chicken manure that has been sifted with a weight ratio of 1: 1, 1: 2, 1: 3, 2: 1 and 3: 1 for rice husk with chicken manure. And mixed with 7.7% gluten dough. Once the briquettes are formed in the mold removed and dried. Drying of briquettes biocharcoal done using the oven and the temperature is determined 70 oC for 3 hours as well as in testing the calorific value, moisture content and the rate of fuel combustion. From the test results showed that the calorific value of rice husk charcoal briquette mixture with chicken manure which has the highest calorific value contained in the ratio of 3: 1 was 2.8779 kcal /gr. And reduction of water content in the briquettes are higher at a ratio of 2: 1 is equal to 40.21%. While the long combustion rate is the ratio of 1: 3 in the amount of 38.97 minutes is compared with other comparisons.
