Abstract

A low cost wireless system for an active seismic method is used to simplify the process of determining subsurface structure with high accuracy. Two NRF24101 radio transceivers with transmission speeds of 2 Mbps are used for triggering system in recording seismic waves. The maximum distance range of the wireless system is measured to be 200 m. In order to improve signal to noise ratio of the seismic signal, five geophones in series are used as a single detector. The wireless system is tested and the results are analysed and compared with a conventional system with cables. Results of the wireless system is found to be in agreement with the conventional method.
