Abstract

This paper is a preliminary study of attenuation model for wireless communication channels base on research of rainfall measurements. The model is developed by assuming rain droplets in channel. The rain droplets cause scattering of electromagnetic wave especially for millimeter waves. The attenuation model depends on the drop size distribution (DSD). In this paper, five attenuation models are compared. The results attenuation model rain correlated communications channel model the highest value at China (stratiform 2.0762 dB/km and convective 5.9844 dB/km).
