Abstract

This paper discusses mobile communication on 4G networks in rainy conditions. Rain conditions cause rain attenuation which reduces the transmitted signal in mobile communications. The range of the transmitted signal can be increased by dividing it into smaller cells in order to maintain a good signal known as femtocells. Coverage of femtocells for this research is at a distance below 30 meters between base transceiver station (BTS) under line of sight (LOS) conditions. This is minimum average coverage with a power transmission up to 108 dBm (normal transmission of the receiver) for direct measurement. The synthesis measurement (driver test) in rain condition needed more power up to 25 dBm.
