Abstract
This study aims to determine the influence of scientific approach toward creative thinking skills of students. Indicator of creative thinking skills in this study were fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. Design in this study was quasy experimental with postest only control group design. Population of the study was all of students in grade VII SMPN 16 Mataram. The technic of sampling in this study consist of two group, experiment and control. Which is experiment group was taugh using scientific approach and control group was taugh using common methods. The instrument of the study was essay test to measure creative thinking skill. The postest data show that the average of creative thinking skill in the experimental group is 72,32% which categorized as creative the control group is equal to 62,67% which categorized as creative enough. Based on it found t count 3,28 and t tabl e 1,67 (the significant level of 5%). The result show that there were effect of a scientific approach toward creative thinking skills of the students on vibration and waves material.
