Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media use GeoGebra on the material surface area of cubes and blocks to improve spatial abilities and determine the effectiveness of the media developed. Media interactive learning using GeoGebra to improve spatial ability junior high school students of class VIII to the type of research is research development which was developed following the development model ADDIE, namely: a) analysis: a needs analysis which shows the limited medium of learning, and the students have not been actively involved in the process learning, GeoGebra technology analysis is used as the primary software and curriculum analysis in accordance with KTSP; b) design: the collection of references, designing content of the material in accordance with the spatial aspects and flowcharts to facilitate the making of instructional media; c) development: the creation of instructional media, and revising the first stage product based on input validators; d) the implementation: a test to obtain the effectiveness of the use of the media; e) evaluation: analyze the effectiveness of instructional media. The object of this study is to use GeoGebra interactive learning media to improve the spatial abilities of students. The instrument used in this study is the validity of a media sheet, the sheet media and test the effectiveness of student learning outcomes. The results of the analysis developed instructional media development are: a) the validity of the criteria is very valid and invalid based on the assessment of media experts and subject matter experts with a score of 77.04 each and 78; b) the effectiveness with effective criteria based on the assessment of students with scores of 32.3 and achievement test with a success percentage of students reaching the KKM 62.91%; c) spatial abilities based on indicators of spatial perception with the percentage of 83.33%, spatial visualization with the percentage of 33.33%, rotation mind with 58.33% percentage, the spatial relationship with the percentage of 83.33%,and the percentage of spatial orentasi 41.67%. Therefore we can conclude learning media has met the quality valid and effective, and can be fit for use in the learning process in schools to improve the spatial abilities of students.
