Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the error of the concept of evolution of students of biology education study program FPMIPA IKIP Mataram. Knowing conceptual misconceptions or misconceptions is a starting point for designing better learning to minimize the errors of the concept. This research is a survey descriptive study. Respondents in this study were 50 students of the biology education program FPMIPA IKIP Mataram who had taken an evolution course. Data obtained using a questionnaire consisting of 10 statements, then the size of the level of student misconception about evolution was analyzed using certainty of response index (CRI). Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that students experience misconceptions about evolution, or have a low understanding of evolution, so it is also recommended to supplement library resources or learning resources for students, which in this case are appropriate books or handouts (free of misconception), in the hope students will have a better understanding of evolution.
