Abstract
The generator is the main part of the generation of electrical energy to supply power to the system. The generator can be interrupted due to reverse power, ie the generator absorbs power from the system. Reverse power failure can damage the generator, so the generator must be isolated from the system. This study designed a protection and monitoring system for reverse power fault in a 1 kVA three-phase generator using Arduino Mega 2560 as the main component. Current sensor is ACS712-20A and voltage sensor is ZMPT101B. Touchscreen of TFT as the interface used for setting the reverse power and disconnection time. Sensor test results, current sensor measuring error 1.47%, 4.10%, and 3.59%, voltage sensors 0.20%, 1.22%, and 0.77% for phase R, S, and T. Reverse power interruption simulations are performed by quickly reducing the ability prime movers so the generator power becomes negative. The power from the system flows to the generator, so a reverse power protection system at the generator works. All generator operations are monitored in real time on the TFT touchscreen.
