Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model with Group Investigation (GI) type on learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasy experiment in the form of nonequivalent control group design post-test only. The population in this study included all students of class X IPA MA Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Kediri. Taking by random sampling method, and selected class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and class X IPA 3 as the control class. Data collection was carried out using a test of learning outcomes in the form of a question description that had previously been validated. The results showed the average value in the experimental class = 75.45 higher than the control class = 61.81. T test results, yielding t = 3.61> t table = 1.671 means Ho is rejected. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model with Group Investigation (GI) type gives a better influence on the learning outcomes of the subject matter chemistry of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions in class X MA Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Kediri students.
