Abstract

Folklore is one form of cultural expression of a group that contains moral values and educational values as social institutions in social life. Folklore can also give children a new understanding that has never been experienced. However, folklore has begun to be forgotten and gradually abandoned by the community. So that children who are expected to be the next generation do not understand how the folklore plays a role in character development. This happens because of the presence of sophisticated technologies in this digital age. Revitalization needs to be done as a strategic step to revive folklore that is slowly being left behind. The problem that will be examined in this research is how to revitalize folklore as a character development for young people in the digital age. Analysis methods and techniques are based on literature studies, and data analysis is based on folklore revitalization as the development of children's character education. Presentation of data is done by outlining the revitalization steps associated with the process of developing children's character education. Data source is folklore. So that the final results of this study are expected to provide steps and positive benefits in education, especially in the development of children's character as the next generation in the digital age.
