Abstract
This research was aimed to find the translation techniques used from English to Indonesian subtitle, to determine the most dominant type of translation used in “Angry Bird” Movie. This study is conducted with qualitative way. This study focused on translation techniques of subtitle “Angry Bird” movie. The data of this research are utterances of two character belongs to “Angry Bird” movie, there are 233 utterances of Red and Chuck as the data. While, the source data of this research is subtitle that provided by Every Agent, member of forum Indonesian Data and File Library. In analyzing the data, the writer used 18 translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir. There are 9 techniques used by subtitle writer: Establish equivalent, linguistic compression, discursive creation, modulation, literal translation, compensation, calque, transposition and borrowing as the result of subtitle translation of “Angry Bird” Movie. In the findings, the writer found that most dominant translation techniques used by Every Agent is establish equivalent with 107 utterances.
