Abstract

Nasopharyngeal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in Indonesia after cervical cancer, breast cancer and skin cancer. Meanwhile, nasopharyngeal cancer is a malignant tumor located in the head and neck area. Based on WHO there are 3 histological classifications of nasopharyngeal cancer, namely type I, type II, and type III, while according to the stage, nasopharyngeal cancer is divided into several stages. Symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer can be divided into four, namely eye and nerve symptoms, ear symptoms, metastases or symptoms in the neck and the last is symptoms of the nasopharynx itself. Several ways that can be used to prevent nasopharyngeal cancer are vaccinating people who have a high risk of developing nasopharyngeal cancer and quitting smoking. Meanwhile, medical and surgical treatment, diet, and activity restrictions are 3 treatments that can be done if nasopharyngeal cancer has been diagnosed.
