Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the success of the implementation of Artificial Insemination (AI) inseminated with frozen sperm of Bali and Limousin cattle in Narmada District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, based on the calculation of the parameters of Non-Return Rate (NRR), Service Per Conception (S/C) and Conception Rate (CR). The method used was descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach using a survey method on 90 Bali cattle breeders registered as AI acceptors. The data collected were tabulated and analyzed using simple statistical standards, namely percentage, average and standard deviation. The results of the analysis show that the NRR value of Bali cattle was 50.9%, and that of Limousin cattle was 88.5%. The service per conception (S/C) value of Bali cattle was 1.56, and Limousin cattle was 1.10. The conception rate (CR) of Bali cattle was 50.9%, while Limousin cattle was 88.5%. The test results showed a different trend between the semen of Limousin cattle and Bali cattle, where Limousin showed a higher value than Bali cattle. The level of knowledge of farmers about reproduction and artificial insemination technology affects the success rate of artificial insemination
