Abstract

Jamu is local wisdom that has developed in society, where people still believe that the benefits of this traditional drink can cure various diseases without causing side effects. This research aims to find out how to make kencur rice herbal medicine and tamarind turmeric herbal medicine and their benefits. This research uses the method of socialization and education to the community about the use of traditional herbal medicine (rice kencur and turmeric tamarind) and how to make it. Kencur rice herbal medicine is a nutritious herbal drink formulated from several ingredients. The main sources of kencur rice are kencur rhizomes and rice. Kencur rice which is a useful herbal medicine increases energy and appetite and relieves pain. Kencur rice herbal medicine can also reduce fatigue, prevent coughing and filter sounds. Turmeric Asam is a drink made from the basic ingredients of turmeric rhizome juice (Curcuma Domestica), tamarind fruit flesh (Tamarindus indica) and sugar. Tamarind fruit has potential as an antidiabetic, antihyperlipidemia and antioxidant. Sour turmeric drinks can be classified as herbal medicines or herbal drinks that have health benefits. This is due to the many active ingredients or ingredients in turmeric, such as curcuminoids and essential oils. One of the medicinal properties of sour turmeric is that it can reduce menstrual pain in women.
