Abstract
Islamic boarding school is one place to educate and foster the character of students in order to face future life and its development like the current digital era, the development of technology that is so massive must be accompanied by strong character control and guidance for the development of human resources that are moral and have character. In this study there are two objectives to be achieved, namely first to find out the strategy of Islamic boarding schools in anticipating the negative impact of the digital era for the character of students in Islamic Boarding Schools Munirul Arifin Nahdlatul Wathan (YANMU NW) Praya, secondly to find out the negative effects of the digital era for students in Pondok characters Munirul Arifin Islamic Boarding School Nahdalatul Wathan (YANMU NW) Praya. Judging from the focus of the problems examined in this study, this study includes qualitative research, using two data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques, namely: (1) Observation Method, (2) Interview Method and (3) Documentation Method. Thus the results of this study can be concluded first Munirul Arifin NW Boarding School Boarding Strategies Praya is to minimize students carrying electronic equipment, supervise students in the use of technology, guide in the use of the internet, conduct socialization to the guardians of students about the positive and negative effects of technology, fostering students' mentality through religious studies. While the negative effects of the digital era on the character of students are: lazy, cheating, lack of focus, decreased writing skills, loss of local culture.
