Abstract

Background: SHV gene is part of a broad-spectrum ESBL that is often found in Gram-negative bacteria. Aim: MDR from chicken eggshells. Methods: This study used 160 samples of chicken eggshell swabs isolated on 1% BPW media from 10 traditional Surabaya markets. Samples were isolated using MCA media and were identified using Gram staining and biochemical tests. Detection of MDR using Muller-Hinton Agar. Results: SHV gene of 71.42% (10/14). Conclusion: SHV gene from MDR isolates.
