Abstract
A urease–BTB/silicalite optical biosensor was developed for real-time urea detection. The silicalite matrix provided a stable platform for urease immobilization, enabling reliable enzymatic activity and a measurable reflectance response. The biosensor demonstrated high sensitivity, reproducibility, and selectivity, with strong agreement to standard methods. Successful detection in environmental water samples highlights its applicability for urea monitoring in complex matrices.
