Pengaruh Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Berbantuan Media E-Komik terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Sosiologi

Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan faktor penting yang menentukan keberhasilan dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran karena mampu mendorong siswa untuk lebih bersemangat, aktif, dan memiliki kemandirian dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model problem based learning (PBL) berbantuan media e-komik terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sosiologi. Media e-komik dipilih karena mampu mengahdirkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan menarik perhatian siswa melalui kombinasi teks, visual, dan alur cerita yang kontekstual. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis eksperimen semu. Rancangan yang dipilih berupa posttest only with nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh kelas XI SOS di MAN Lombok Barat, dengan kelas XI SOS 2 (35 siswa) sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI SOS 3 (35 siswa) sebagai kelompok kontrol yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling setelah penyepadanan kelas dan. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket motivasi belajar yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji T Two Independent Sample setelah data dinyatakan normal dan homogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai motivasi belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen (66,06) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (62,71) dengan nilai signifikansi p = 0,005 < 0,05, yang mengindikasikan adanya pengaruh model problem based learning (PBL) berbantuan media e-komik terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sosiologi. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan bahwa model PBL berbantuan media e-komik efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang interaktif. Learning motivation is a crucial factor that determines success in achieving learning objectives, as it encourages students to be more enthusiastic, active, and independent in their studies. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by e-comic media on students’ learning motivation in sociology subjects. E-comic media was chosen because it can create an engaging and enjoyable learning experience by combining text, visuals, and contextual storytelling. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The selected design was a posttest-only with nonequivalent control group design. The study population included all eleventh-grade social science (XI SOS) students at MAN Lombok Barat, with class XI SOS 2 (35 students) serving as the experimental group and class XI SOS 3 (35 students) as the control group, selected using a simple random sampling technique after class matching. The data collection instrument was a learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test after confirming that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results showed that the average learning motivation score of students in the experimental class (66.06) was higher than that of the control class (62.71), with a significance value of p = 0.005 < 0.05, indicating that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by e-comic media had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation in sociology subjects. These findings imply that the PBL model supported by e-comic media is effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation and can serve as an alternative interactive learning medium.
