Abstract

Globally, about four million deaths occur in neonates, most of which occur in low- and middle-income countries. Neonatal Resuscitation Training is the gold standard to achieve the ability of health workers to perform neonatal resuscitation. Neonatal resuscitation training for medical personnel at the Babakan Health Center in Mataram City is needed as one of the efforts to increase the capacity of medical personnel at first-level health facilities as the front line. The method used was lecture session about algorithm of neonatal resuscitation and skill station. The expected outcome were increasing knowledge and skills of health workers as training participants. In this activity, pretest score mean was 36.89 and the post test score mean was 66.25. After this training, there was a significant increase in the knowledge of the trainees by 29.37%, p-value=0.001 (Paired T-Test). This training was proven to be able to improve the knowledge and clinical skills of medical personnel in handling newborn emergencies, it is hoped that it can be routinely carried out at least once a year so that it can ultimately reduce the mortality rate of newborns in West Nusa Tenggara Province.
