Abstract
Recently, traffic congestion has become a chronic problem in the urban region which greatly affects the economic and environmental problems. Several methods have been proposed to solve these problems. However, they still have problems in terms of economic load and driver difficulty. In this study, the authors develop the Multi-Element Genetic Algorithms conducted certain generation recombination for various complicated optimization problem and the optimized traffic signal parameters are verified with the real road network using Aimsun6.1 simulator. The proposed method could provide good verification results.
