Abstract
This study aims to analyse the relationship between meditation in karate training and the level of concentration and calmness among karate athletes in Central Lombok Regency. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 60 active karate athletes selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a Likert scale to measure the intensity of meditation, concentration, and calmness of the athletes. The data were analysed using descriptive, normality, linearity, and Pearson correlation tests to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. The results indicate that meditation has a very strong positive relationship with the improvement of concentration and calmness among athletes. Regular meditation practice has been proven to enhance focus, stabilise emotions, and maintain athletes’ mental balance when facing training and competitive pressures. Therefore, meditation plays an essential role as an integral element in karate training, not only emphasising physical strength but also developing mental resilience and shaping athletes’ calm, focused, and determined character.
