Abstract
This study aims to analyze women’s economic empowerment through the creative ecosystem using a case study of the Gekrafs community in West Nusa Tenggara. The research background is grounded in the importance of women’s roles in local economic development, particularly through the rapidly growing creative economy sector in West Nusa Tenggara. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to deeply explore the perspectives, experiences, and challenges faced by women within the Gekrafs creative ecosystem. Primary data was collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation with key informants, primary informants, and additional informants from government and academic sectors. Secondary data was obtained from journals, scientific articles, and relevant documents. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, with data validity tested using triangulation. The results of the study indicate that Gekrafs NTB plays a role in empowering women economically through the formation of collaborative networks, capacity building, market access, and the strengthening of the identity of local creative products. This empowerment has led to increased income, economic independence, and women’s contributions to regional economic development. This study recommends the need to strengthen synergies among communities, the government, and academia to ensure the sustainability of a gender-inclusive creative ecosystem in NTB.
