Abstract
Abstract Agricultural drought continues to pose a significant environmental challenge, affecting food security and ecosystem stability. This study maps agricultural drought levels in Central Lombok Regency using the Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI) derived from Landsat 8 OLI time-series imagery (2013–2024) processed through Google Earth Engine. In 2024, drought conditions in agricultural land are classified into five categories: Extreme (0.12%), Severe (27.83%), Moderate (33.03%), Mild (38.14%), and Normal (0.88%). The most affected districts experiencing Severe and Extreme drought are Praya Barat, Pujut, and Janapria. Temporal analysis indicates that these districts have also shown the most pronounced increases in extreme drought over the period 2013–2024. These findings highlight the need for targeted drought mitigation strategies focusing on high-risk areas to ensure sustainable agricultural productivity.
