Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the characteristics of the crystal structure and morphology of Strontium Hexaferrite (SrFe 12 O 19 ) from Lombok Island, which were measured using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). In this study, SrFe 12 O 19 material was added with Cobalt (Co) and Copper (Cu) doping to improve its characteristic properties. In addition, this study used variations in treatment temperatures, namely 500, 1000, and 1100 °C. Data obtained through XRD and SEM tests were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. Based on the analysis carried out, it was found that temperature greatly affects the crystal structure and morphology of Strontium Hexaferrite samples with Cobalt and Copper doping (SrFe 12 O 19 :(Co+Cu)). Samples with a temperature of 1000 °C have a more optimal structure and morphology compared to temperatures of 500 and 1100 °C because they have a structure with a high degree of crystallinity in the high M-type Hexaferrite phase and a hexagonal morphology. These magnetic characteristics can be used as a reference material in the development of several renewable energy-based technologies for the future.
